Angry xref file not visible on layout paper space

    Hello to all,
I have a architectural background xref-ed on my file, everything is fine on model space, I changed all colors & turned off all unnecessary layers, when I move to layout and create a viewport, the xref file is not visible.
I have the object enabler installed on my Autocad 2004, my proxy variable is on and after checking the xref file I have no proxy entities or objects inside the file
    What is wrong?

    I appreciate any ideas.
    Thank you all.

Is the xref on a unique layer? Is that layer On and Thawed in the vport?

    Hello John,

Yes, the xref file is on a layer that is On & Thawed in the viewport.
I never seen this before, I usually figure out things pretty quick, but on this issue I already spent 2 1/2 hours, going through system variables & Autodesk Enablers, and I can't figure it out.
Any other ideas, if you want I can send you the files to look @ it.

    Thanks.

I have to say, that is the "damndest thing I have ever seen"! (please no grammer police on that one LOL) I see what you mean parts of the model are visible, but the XREFs are not. I will do some investigating and let you know what I come up with.

OK, here is what i found ...... I am still not sure whay they are not visible in your viewport or in a new viewport when I tried creating one ....

However, I went into the layer manager and turned ALL layers ON, Thawed, and thawed in current and new viewports. This didn't fix the existing viewport, but when I created a new viewport everything is visible.

I did this in AC2006, I will post the new file if you like, but if you try this it should work.

If you open the viewport and then go into the layer manger, scroll over to the right. You will see two column: "Current VP Freeze" and "New VP Freeze". All of these were frozen. That is the reason they didn't show up in the existing or new viewports.
