Question Circular Wall Reveal as Wall Component

I made a circular wall reveal using the Generic Model Wall Based Family and everything works as I want it to within the Family, but when I apply it to a wall in my project it isn't on the face of my wall so I can't see the reveal (it doesn't cut the geometry).

I noticed the generic wall based family uses a basic wall of 150mm thickness. I changed this wall thickness to match my wall thickness in my project and it worked fine, as intended.

Is there a way that I can have it recognize the wall face on any wall type (a wall of any thickness) without having to create it within the family?

I attached a sample of it, Revit 7.0.

Just use the wall face as you sketch plane for the sweep path. That's all you need to do. The 175mm ref plane is messing things up.
