    Angry Getting Started

How on earth do you get started with Autocad these days ? The last time I tried it, with Autocad LT 95, the package came with a nice User's Guide book which started with the basics. At that point I made some headway but the skills evidently did not stick.

Recently I purchased Autocad LT 2004 - no book and no sensible on-line help for beginners. The Help base produced no hits under either "beginners" or "getting started".

So where do I find a beginners' guide somewhere in this morass ?

The big name books on acad ("Inside...", "Mastering...") are all written in american for achitects. If you want something written in english for engineers (and a lot cheaper), look for some of the books by Alf Yarwood, published by Longman Press.

    Hi

Have you tried the forum search facility...

    Key Word(s): *Tutorial*

Should return a lot of threads; you could refine the search results by making use of "Search in Forum(s)".

To get you going in the right direction, take a look at the following threads (take note of all links within) -

    AutoCAD Training

Books for Acad 2005 (WAS ..Attachments on the AUGI site)

Check out the following AUGI pages -

    AUGI Education

    Publications

    Have a good one, Mike
