    Default VBA Training Guide?

    Hello,

I am new to the whole concept of VBA. I know, getting with the times here... Anyways, we are using AutoCAD 2005 here and when we used the 2000 version, someone in the office made up a slick dialogbox that set the LTscale and everything involved. What you do is type in setscale in the command line and it would open this dialog box with all of these buttons on it that had different scales affiliated with the buttons. You just picked the button that you wanted and it would set everything appropriately or you pick the full button and it would flip everything so you were ready to plot in paperspace. Now, can anyone tell me either how to do this or maybe even better, is there a user's guide for VBA that can teach someone who has no training in it whatsoever? I know he made this up in VBA, but I just do not know anything about the program at all. If someone could help me out, that would be FANTASTIC!!! Thank you so much for your time and help, hope to hear from someone soon...

    Take care...

    Jeff

Go to the Publications here at AUG or http://www.augi.com/publications/default.asp?page=194 . Then mid way down the page you will see "VBA Foundations - A tutorial in VBA programming for beginners (PDF)" This is a really good place to start. Then post your questions here and everyone will be more than willing to help you out. The people here will not just give code, they will help you figure out how to do it yourself.

I just downloaded and printed out the entire tutorial mentioned above, and I plan to be in here asking questions soon! Is there a more appropriate/dedicated forum for us newbies?

No, right here is fine. Don't worry about being a newbie. Everybody starts somewhere.

Any news on the VBA - ATP Courses?
Are you planning to run more specs on the script manager?

The first three were fantastic learning tools.

Yes, I would like to. I'm just swamped right now...Got a million dollars worth of fiberoptic equipment to install over the next couple months.
