Is there anyone using Revit with Maxon Cinema 4D? I'd be interested in your comments. Particularly related to lighting and geometry exchange.

I am new to revit and use C4D also. Any one have any luck exporting-Importing?
Basically you need the engineering bundle or polytrans to convert the DWG's. I never found this worked as well as VIZ so I purchased VIZ. A shame because C4D had a nice workflow and good support for plugins. I never found DXF worked that well.
Hopefully we'll find out something about V9 from the AU people... With ADESK purchasing Alias FBX would be an obvious choice.... Don't hold your breath though.

I've been lucky that thru purchase of other products a Sketchup version came available here, and that has been the answer to ReVIT to Cinema4d via Sketchup.
i import the Dwg in Sketchup and have a good control over the layers. than i export to Obj.
it loads into Cinema4d quite good.
The FBX export from Sketchup produced a heavy 3D file that was harder to handle in C4d
at Maxon they say you should use Polytrans by Okino. as a translator.
but well Sketchup has so many other usefull tools and good modeling.
