    Default Wierd Rendering Problem

    Hi,

I've been having a wierd problem when rendering outdoor scenes. For example, I have an asphalt parking lot with a curb and grass island in the parking lot. All were created using the "In Place" create tool, either extruded or sweep. Everything looks fine at this point, you can see the height variation between the top of curb and the lower asphalt parking a lot, roghly 5 inches or so. BUT, when I render it, it seems to make these different plans appear to be on the SAME plane. You don't see the varied height difference between the parking lot and curb heights. It almost seems as if there parking lot was filled with snow or something to the exact height of the curb.

    Any ideas?

Check that you haven't got a ground plane turned on in your render settings.

Yup, that sounds like the culprit. This catches many the unwary and new renderer unawares...

Remember, if you've got a graphic question and would like us to assist you, please post a screen capture so that we can 'see' the problem. A picture is worth.... a thousand words.

    Thanks,
    Kyle

Remember to turn it off in two places, under render settings and in advanced visibility graphics, if it is on in either joint, then you will see it in a rendering. don't feel bad it catches the besty of us from time to time.

AMG settings will only be used if the render settings call the " Use Sun & Shadow Settings from View "
