Question marks

Is there any way to get rid of those question marks on tags that parameters either have value " " or none? I.e. when there's no value given or value should be "space" Revit shows question marks on tags. It's very annoying to have sheet full of question marks or dots (which we now have to use for none-information).

example: we use door tags that shows fire protection classes (E30 etc) and of course there's lot of doors that don't need to be in fire protection class so then the tag should so nothing what so ever in that place - now it shows question mark.

If only it would accept at least space for text parameter we could use it for those types of situations - sometimes it is helpful to see that nothing has been given yet.

Which version are you using? That was changed in ver. 8. No question mark is displayed.

What version are you using? I believe they changed this behavior in 7, the question marks no longer appear until you hover over the tag

We use Revit 8.0 and the tag is also done with it. I post an screen capture from our new project.

Forgot to mention that those parameters we use are all shared.

I had Revit 8 version 2005-04 and updated it to 2005-06. Made totally new door tag and added it to totally new project. Question marks are still there - does anybody have working solution -should Revit 8 have fixed the problem or not?

Tested some more: adding space to objects (doors) parameters as default I finally got tag without question marks, but as soon as the parameter is tampered again i.e. added another value and changed it back to that default "space" it shows the question marks again. Is there a bug in the code checking if question mark is used or not?

My sincere wish is that this should be fixed!

Could you post one of the tags you are having problems with? I've created quite a few tags with shared parameters and none of them show a question mark

Here's one - we use little bit different names than u guys:

Paloluokka = Fire rate
Tyyppi = used for Door type
Family type = used for Door size in modules
Helat = door knots, locks, special equipments etc.

I tested it with standard parameters Revit have for Doors and the result is same. This door tag was started straight from open - new annotiaton - DoorTag; I'm not sure if it updated with the update I just made while I did'nt load the cabinets also. So perhaps you could send back one of your tags and I'll test it if it might work?
