    Question IMAGE WON'T PLOT

My drawing has two layouts one plots fine with image and overlaying linework.
In the second only the linework will plot.
I have checked that all layers are set to plot and that the image isn't on the def point layer.

Acad 2005 with HP 500ps plotter.

    many thanks

    Richard

    Hi

Have a browse of the following threads -

    image not plotted

    Viewports not plotting

If still no joy, please post the drawing file (plus image file) so we may take a look at the issue / problem first-hand.

    Have a good one, Mike

    Thanks Mike But.

    I have tried : - Hide objects
    hide plot
    making sure its 2d wireframe
shadeplot is set to "as displayed"

Would it be worth attaching the drawing? Do you need the image attaching as well?

Sorry for the delay but I some how have managed to embed the image as a metafile? I thought that this was imposable??? It was just a copy paste from a word document.

By the way I have been able to print layout 1 a couple of times.

Have you solved the problem then?

Both layouts preview for me with lines over the image.

Are you saying you have managed to Plot both Layouts?

No just the layout 1, but that has now cease to behave.

John, They preview fine look exactly what I want but will not plot as seen. most frustrating.

Would a HP/GL2 card help with both this and the CAD Crashing when plotting.

    Hi

Have a browse of the following thread -

Adding a disclaimer to a drawing.

From playing with the drawing file "pss-dux-001-001 n 2.dwg" I believe the embedded image file has become corrupt (personally I think you are much better off using the Image command to attach an image file, whenever possible).

    +

I have found (Autodesk themselves hint at this) it is best not to assign any other Linetype apart from "Continuous" to Polygonal Floating Viewports. If you require the outline of a Polygonal Floating Viewport in a different Linetype it is best to "trace" its outline with a suitable Polyline (required Linetype associated with this Polyline).

Polygonal Floating Viewports with non "Continuous" Linetypes can lead to Plotting issues / problems or worse still actual drawing file corruption.

Please take a look at the attached ZIP.

Thanks again Mike for helping me keep my job. Especially as this is the big bosses pet project.
