Total Wall Length

Here's the situation.

Walls trimming to walls - good
Wall data is extending into the mid-point of the wall - bad

Is there a way to control where components stop and extend and have this reflected in the actual wall length data?

I would like to see (in my simplistic view of the Revit world) arrow grips on each component in plan, a better wall join tool, or maybe even a wall join sketch mode.
