Question Tool palettes don't stay organized.

Every time I start up ADT 2006, the groups that I have organized the palettes into disappear. I can remove palette groups in the customize dialog box, but when restarting ADT, it resets it back to the previous groups. Where is the information stored about the palette groups?

    Thanks,

    Anders

I did a registry repair but that didn't let me keep the changes I made to my tool palettes. So I exported my profile and removed the current one. Then imported the new profile and it DID keep the changes on the tool palette.

    Thanks Steve.

I have had a similar problem with project tool pallettes. As you change your palette groups you are only amending the temporary tool pallette for the current project (which i don't think supports groups).

Make sure you close the current project before you change your palette. Also in the files tab of the options dialogue box you need to delete out any project paths from the "tool pallette file locations". A project path would look something like this:

    C:\Documents and Settings\your name\Application Data\Autodesk\ADT 2006\enu\Support\Profiles\ProjectCatalogs\B2F02CA7_E00A_40DA_96E6_12C0908624F9

I periodically delete all of the project profiles and cataglog's that ADT creates, if you don't when you go back to an old project you get an old tool pallette, and thats when you can also loose your groups. You can find these in folders in the following location:

    C:\Documents and Settings\your name\Application Data\Autodesk\ADT 2006\enu\Support\Profiles

I wish there was a way of turning off project tool palletes and profiles but I can;t find one!
