Here are some tricks (no, NOT with Ru Paul) for Drag-n-Dropping that you can use with AutoCAD.
FILE MANAGEMENT
Drag 'n Dropping a file into the drawing area with the Left mouse button will cause the drawing to be inserted as a block.
Drag 'n Dropping a file on the application area outside of the drawing area with the Left mouse button will cause the drawing to be opened up for full editing.
Drag 'n Dropping a file into the drawing area with the Left mouse button and holding down the CTRL key will cause the drawing to be opened up for full editing.
Drag 'n Dropping a file into the drawing area with the Right mouse button will cause a Content Menu to appear on screen that will say:
Insert Here - Inserts the drawing as a block into the document below the cursor.
Open - Opens the file into it's very own document window for editing.
Create Xref - Attaches the file to the document below the cursor.
Create Hyperlink Here - Allows for the creation of a Hyperlink with in the document below the cursor. You are asked to what objects that you would like to add the Hyperlink to after the option is selected.
DESIGN CENTER
Also, Design Center can be used to Drag-n-Drop items directly from other drawings (ie. without having to open the drawing) into the current drawing like: Blocks, Dimstyles, Layers, Layouts, Linetypes, Table Styles, Text Styles, and XREFS
PROGRAMS
And last, but not least, you can Drag-n-Drop custom programs like LSP, ARX, DVB, etc.
