Default Compiled menu files going to another location

When you modify an MNS file (2005) and open AutoCAD back up, the MNC and MNR files should recompile and place themselves in the same folder as the MNS file.

However, a coworker is compiling the MNS file and the compiled files are going to the ENU folder under his profile.

Why aren't the files just staying in the same folder as the MNS file?

Question Re: Compiled menu files going to another location

    Hi

Is the user amending the Base Menu (MENU) or a Partial Menu (MenuLoad)?

Is the user definitely amending the correct .MNS file?

    Have a good one, Mike

I think mainly we all use MENULOAD. I'm not very familiar with Partial Menus, even though I have been using them, apparently. Should he be using MENU to load the MNS file in order for it to compile correctly?

I have always used MENULOAD to load my menus and have never had this problem myself.

    Hi

Partial Menu(s) are controlled by MenuLoad.

The Base Menu is controlled by MENU ie The menu file that is returned via MenuName.

Take a look at the following page from the AutoCAD Online Help File [F1] and see if that helps -

Contents tab -> Customization Guide -> The Menu File -> Load and Unload Menu Files

What is returned at the AutoCAD Command Line if the user types the following -

    Command: (FindFile "NameOfMenuFileHere.mns")

    Have a good one, Mike
