I'm curious to hear from those who use Buzzsaw regularly. Our firm has been using it for some time now, but on other teams. Our team has not jumped into it yet. A couple of years ago, we had Autodesk give us the Buzzsaw "show" and we were impressed, except that it ran on Autodesk's servers, and was basically an internet service. We asked if it would ever be available as a software package we could run and manage. We were told it probably wouldn't happen.....

Well, I just read in an Autodesk Press Release that there is now a Buzzsaw SE Server Edition. It's the Buzzsaw software, that we can install on our own servers, and manage on our own. No more 'buying' extra space on an internet server as our projects grow. Without knowing a whole lot about it at this point, I'm hoping that we can customize this version with our own forms, and have Buzzsaw manage all of our files and correspondence.

I need to find out more about Buzzsaw SE, but I wanted to get some dialog going here about it. Any one have any experience with Buzzsaw?

Scott, this is really good news.
I wasn't impressed with the idea of having to upload documents a remote location, and therefore didn't recommend it to the managers. But now there is a Server Edition which we can administer ourselves, well that's a different storey.

I'm off to suggesting this to the IT manager and bosses now.

We used it on a project where the consultant purchased it & gave us passwords to access it.

I thought the interface was sort of klunky.

Has anyone used or tried ConstructionWare??

We rely on Buzzsaw almost exclusively. I will say that most of our use comes in the form of file transfer only. We find it easy to use, drag and drop and the security is clean and simple.

    Keep us posted on SE.

So Scott, what did you do to make your coworkers stop talking to you? Must be a good story.

Our office is really like 7 small offices of 10-15 people each, working inside of a large office. Each team has kind of developed on its own, and each team has their own subtle ways of doing things differently. There are times when I'll see some drawings around, and I say "We are designing that??" There are times when we have no idea what the other teams are working on!

    Sorry....not really a good story!

    Scott,
Getting off topic here but the desription of your firm's organization has peaked my curiousity. Are you all at one location or multiple locations? Does each team work on different types of projects? Is each team responsible for bringing in their own projects?
