VBA won't do it.
The Revit journal files are scripts that can be used to automate Revit processes, although that is totally unsupported.
You may also want to investigate the API in Revit.
The Revit API is .Net based, so if you switch to Visual Basic .Net from simple VBA, you'll be able to do some things.
So far, it's my limited understanding that you'd be able to create tools that can interact with Revit (within Revit) in a limited capacity, for the API isn't 'complete' yet. So you can't, at this time, use the API to run Revit 'headless' or make it do batch automation without someone around to tell it to go...
