Summary: When filedia = 0, new/open/save commands run on the command line - within the command line options, a prompt could be added to open the dialog box. This would allow a user to automatically change the FILEDIA variable without knowing what the variable is.
Description: Change the command line prompting for the NEW/OPEN/SAVE commands when FILEDIA = 0
How Used: When FILEDIA is 0 (zero), users get the command line version of these commands. This continues to be a daily question in the AutoCAD forums. Add an option in the prompting to "turn on dialogs".
Instead of:
"Enter name of drawing to open <C:\T\sample.dwg>:"
It might say:
"Enter name of drawing to open [<C:\T\sample.dwg>/show Dialogs]:
When the user chooses "show Dialogs", not only does the dialog appear, but FILEDIA gets restored to 1.
Feature Affinity: Open/Save
