Default Cut Geometry, In Place Family

I've modelled a roof tile (both in-place and stand alone family) for some hi-res close ups of a home I'm designing. I would like to be able to cut these along a valley where the two planes meet, but haven't been able to do so with the cut geometry tool. I ran a wall, and then a solid parallel to the valley, that bisected the tile, and of course the wall/solid would highlight, but my family tile wouldn't. No cut for me.

Just wonder if any of you-all have been able to pull this off.

    Thanks in advance,

    Bill

Since your have already modeled each tile, open the tile family and add a triangular void, with and instance parameter for the angle and one to "push it away" so it doesn't cut the tile, this way the typ tile will be straight but you can bring in the angled void to cut the tiles needed around various openings and valleys.

You're a clever one, Mr. Brown.
I'll give it a go and let you know.

    Big Thanks,

    Bill
