Question Import Page Setups - with certain caveats

I am totally new to VBA but hope that it can help w/ our situation. We recently got all of our workstations converted to Windows XP from Windows 2000. As I have found out, the Page Setups are no longer correct for any drawings when they are opened from the XP machine. For example, drawings setup for a D size sheet will try to plot to a C sized sheet. If I open them from an old 2K machine, they are fine.

All our prototypes are fixed (redone) so that all new drawings we create will have the correct Page Setups. (We only have Page Setups in Paper space BTW.)

I have seen several routines for automating the importing of Page Setups. What I would like to do is this. Have a routine that:

    1. Checks the filedate of the file being opened. If it is more recent than "DateOfPageSetupFix", then end the routine - page setups are all OK b/c the document was created after "DateOFPageSetupFix" using our new XP Page Setup templates.

    2. Otherwise, take a look at MasterPageSetup.dwg which will have EVERY Page setup that we ever use in any size drawing - A,B,C, oversize D, etc.)

2a. Then PSETUPIN _only_ those Page Setups from MasterPageSetup.dwg that have the exact same name as those in the current drawing. This will "update" the file, but will not import all the Page Setups that are unnecessary (and may confuse users) for this file.

All done in the background when the file is opened.

Any coders out there who want to take me through the steps on this one ?

I have a dvb on the Exchange that does most of that. You would just need to modify it to do your check.

Would that be the one titled:

EX001003 ImportPageSetupsND.TXT - Text File Instructions with VBA/ActiveX code examples.

    ?

Go to the Tools menu. Select Macro -> Load Project... Select the DVB file you want to load. You can then go to Tools -> Macro -> Visual Basic Editor or once the DVB is loaded, you can press Alt-F11 to enter the Visual Basic Editor.
If you have a technical question, please find the appropriate forum and ask it there.
You will get a quicker response from your fellow AUGI members than if you sent it to me via a PM or email.

Great - thank you very much for the help. I will roll up my sleeves and see if I can get into it...
