Dell D800 laptop

This is a long shot; are any of you guys running Revit 8.1 on a Dell D800 laptop with a Geforce fx GO 5600 128mb graphics card? If so...what configuration of opengl/overlay planes works ok for you. Also, what resolution is the screen & what Dell driver version are you using? My screen resolution is 1920x1600 & after opening a couple of windows...everything slows right down with opengl/overplanes "on". Drop the resolution to 1280x1024 & everything is fine. If I then go back to 1920x1600 & turn "off" opengl & overlay planes it seems faster...but shadows are slow. I have tried just overlay planes on & this makes little difference.
My personnel laptop is a Dell M60 Quadro FX go 700 chipset, Revit 8.1 runs like dream with opengl "on" & overlay planes "off". Any ideas?....thanks in advance.

Generally speaking, Revit's performance is best with OpenGL on and overlay planes off...

Thanks Wes....I thought that was the case, but wasn't sure. I should of learnt my lesson now....having the latest video drivers doesn't always mean the best performance! Rolling back to 18 month old driver, now allows me to run Revit 8.1 with max. opengl performance as you suggested.

I had that problem with my Dell 5160 laptop with the Go FX5200 too -- the newer drivers tanked. Only the OLDEST driver would work!
