Revit 2013 not working after installing Visual Studio 2012!?

Hi,
Not sure if anyone had this before (Google turned up nothing) but this weekend I decided to pick up programming, bought a beginner training book for Visual Basic and installed Visual Studio 2012. But for no apparent reason Revit Architecture 2013 simply refuses to start up (it freezes directly after launch) though Revit 2012 seems to work fine. I'm forced to remove Revit and apply the deployment again which is running now.
Does anyone know what causes this behavior? Are the programs mutually exclusive? Can I get them to work alongside oneanother?

This is a very frustrating issue and I will try and get everything to function properly, will update the post when I succeed or run into a new problem. Help would be appreciated.

I fixed it. Did a clean uninstall of VS2012, Revit 2013 and .net 4.5, then installed Revit 2013 and installed VS 2010 for Visual Studio. Everything works fine now. If it isnt known then this should be a warning. Visual Studio 2012 conflicts with Revit 2013 and the ribbon toolbars in 2013 and 2012 (ribbon doesnt update to appropriate context). So if you consider upgrading to VS2012 then at least test it thoroughly and ask yourself if you really need to.
