Basically, if I open the CAD file and try to open it again, it does nothing. It pauses like it's thinking and stops. I think it realizes that I have it open and goes: "What is this guy, nuts?"Originally Posted by drolfe.95337

So basically you're saying that LT does not have this feature available .....Originally Posted by Richard.Lawrence
1. When I open a drawing file that is currently in use AutoCAD 2000 and up will tell me "so and so has this file currently open, would you like to open it as a read only?"
2. When I open a drawing file that is currently in use AutoCAD LT (regardless of year) and up will tell me "this file is currently open, would you like to open it as a read only?"
AT the same time when opening a file that is in use by an LT user, it will default to option #2 ...
Is this correct?
Are we POSITIVE that LT does not support this feature? I'm onyl asking cuz I wanna report back to my co workers and do not wanna look like a goof if I am wrong.

I can't say whether LT does or does not have that feature.
I also said that it was 2005 and newer. 2000 may have it. I think you need to find the whohas.arx file and load it into the older versions (if it is compatible with those versions).
But don't quote me.

too late. I already told them: "Richard Lawrence - Mod Daug at AUGI said that ...."Originally Posted by Richard.Lawrence

2000 is pretty irrelevant and more as a point of journey as my whole office is currently on 2005 (full blown CAD or LT - where the problem comes in)
Where can I find the whohas.arx file and how can I find out if it is compatible or not?
Where do I save it into?
Also, what effect (if any) would it have on an LT system?
Lotta questions, no? :P

LT DOES support this feature. It is the "whohas.arx" and it comes pre-loaded with ACLT. In my experience though it just does not work all the time. Almost all my users are on LT and sometimes it tells me who is in the file and sometimes it doesn't. I gave up trying to figure out why.

Thanks, Ty. I don't have access to LT (or want it) to answer all these LT questions from Rico. Just kidding, Rico.

Hi Rico
Please note I have *moved* this thread from the AutoCAD 2006 General forum to this one...
Why? - this is a AutoCAD LT issue, not a full AutoCAD issue.
Thanks, Mike
