Default 2002 quick save not so quick...

hopefully someone has come accross this one before... it seems that just recently, our 2002 has been taking it's own sweet time to save drawings... what use to take seconds is now taking minutes (2-3)... yes, i have purged the drawing... it is being saved back to the network... any ideas on the not so quick save?

all of our drawings are on the network and we work on them from there... i know that is probably not the best way to do it, but that's the way they've done it before i got here... right now, only 2 people (excluding IT) can access the drawings, but the server is used by everyone... MIS says there is nothing that has changed or it doesn't seem to be bogged down... i'd appreciate any comments on this process, also...

    thanks...

Question Re: 2002 quick save not so quick...

    Hi

What happens if you copy the same drawing files locally ( ie "C:" drive ), work on them from there, then use the _.QSAVE command ( ie Save locally ) ?

    Have a good one, Mike

same results... does purge clean up any history of commands and stuff that have happened since the drawing was created?

No. Purge gets rid of things that have been defined but are not referenced. If you insert a block and delete it then the block definition remains but is not referenced.
Closing a drawing destroys the command history so Undo only works within the current session.

    Hi

Purge removes unreferenced ( unused ) Objects from the drawing database.

    Would be worth trying...

    Audit
    Purge
    Recover
    WBlock
    etc

Is it possible to post an example drawing file, so we can take a look...

    Have a good one, Mike

Look at deleting your layer filters. Here is a link to a lisp program that may help.

Well I didn't have a problem doing a quick save, there sure were a lot of layer filters in there. Looked clean otherwise.
