    Wow!

Just read the release notes, and I'm downloading 6.1 right now. Sounds like some great new features!

    1. Structural improvements, more tools, weld symbols, etc.

    2. Modeling - curved ramps! Use splines and ellipses for sweep paths!

    3. Single pick dimensioning!!!!

    4. Transparent Filled regions

    5. Parametrically controlled display for families! (On/Off Control by parameter!) This is HUGE!

    6. More Component rotate options

    7. Export to gbXML for energy analysis!!!!

Can't wait to get it installed and start trying some of this!!!!

I would have been thrilled with just the conditional parameters. And I get visibility parameters for free!

    Sweet.

Ok, I'm playing around with many of the new features, so I had to share. The attached JPG shows some new structural tools, a sweep along a spline, and a sweep in which we can control the segmentation value, as in ductwork.

The structural beams and columns were all placed by simply selecting a grid system (not visible here in 3D) and clicking 'finish'. Revit 6.1 automatically placed the columns at the grid intersections, and placed the beams automatically between the columns along the grids. Could not have been any easier!
