Unhappy PSpace changes to Mspace if UCS isn't default!

    Here's a strange one!?

In Paperspace. I change my UCS to match an object. Create some text and then go back and edit it. When I click out of the Mtext window it activates a viewport and puts me in Mspace?

I can do it from a clean drawing over and over again! If you set your UCS back to World... doesn't happen...

Am I missing something or is this just broken?

    I can't reproduce that behaviour. (A2006)

Sorry, Rookie error. I'm using AutoCAD 2005 on a Windows XP Pro plat.
    My bad.

I've reproduced it in 2005 on several machines here, some of which are loaded locally and other network...

I doubt it is broken, I'm on 2005 as well and the same thing happens. As a work around, possibly create a new command alias for editing text, mine is DE, it allows me to edit text, mtext, and attributes and it doesn't jump to model space when I am done no matter what my ucs is. With D and E so close on the keyboard, it is almost faster than double clicking.

Been working through "subscription" support and your suggestion may be the only work around, ccowgill. Thanks.
Seems like they "know" about it, but won't respond beyond "buy 2006 it doesn't happen there."

Autodesk doesn't believe in maintenance releases. Soon after release of a new product, they typically release a Service Pack that fixes fatal errors, but for everything else you must wait for the next version (which may or may not contain a fix for the bug).

It's a pretty screwy customer support policy, but it makes life easier for their developers, I guess. And what're you gonna do, switch to Microstation?

Think bigger, start our own firm... produce a superior product... get bought out by Autodesk.. retire early!!
