    try putting the L drive in the search path for autocad to look for:
    eample: our blocks are kept on the network: P:\Projects Active\0ast\La
    then on the button use ^c^ci;drawingname:0,0;zoom;e;;

    This is more simplistic, but it may give you another option if you don't have success with your programming. (I'm in ABS 2007)

    I have created a standard dwg that has all of the layers in it.
    My users go to the Design Center/Folders tab and surf down to where the dwg is housed on the server. They then expand that dwg and go under the Layers section. They can drag and drop all, some, or one particular layer(s) that they need into their dwg. It's pretty quick and doesn't require programming.

    Unfortunately, I have to make sure that if I tweak the layerkey that I have to change it in this dwg as well. That's about the only downfall that I've seen.

    Hope this helps.

    We do the same thing but we also have all the linetypes, dimstyles, textstyles numerous layouts already set up with different size title blocks, etc. I call it CADMart my one stop shopping place.

    Assuming your using Windows... Do you have the network drive 'mapped' ? (Tools Menu, Windows Explorer)

    EDIT: probably doesn't make a blind bit of difference

    I believe you cannot just list the 'L' drive but rather you have to refer to the actually network drive name assigned to it or the address to it. Will be a series of numbers and something like: http://10.25.18.0

    I may be wrong, but with other items, this is what I have had to do and I thought that in this particular case, that this may also be the issue. HTH's! Good luck!
