1. Use a texture map that includes the rows... some have been posted here.. here's some of mine.
2. Rotate the orientation of the map in the material editor if it doesn't align to your model the way you'd like.
To complete the question, in Viz you use the UVW mapping icon to orient the bitmap. Select planar mapping and then size your bitmap, then using the mapping icon, rotate the map orientation on the surface the way you want it to be. Once set, unselect the mapping icon and return to the model.
