Arrow How to export AutoCAD file into Windows Metafile (wmf)

    Hi to all,

I just completed 21-pages of working drawings of conceptual design for the Proposed Industrial Building Project comprising of Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and HVAC.

All the Geometrical objects, some labels and notes was rendered in Model Space with few of it was X-Reference and Overplayed from other existing files. The dimensions, title blocks, General Notes and multi-section and details using non-rectangular views were inserted in the layout views.

All the drawing was came out almost perfect in the both colored and mono-chrome print but my Boss decided to export the same file to save as windows meta file to be inserted into the Power Point application to create a slide presentations.

Is there any way I can do it and how? What happened to the x-ref and overplayed object from the Model space and the multi-view, text, dimensions and t-block object from the layout views?

Any suggestions, options and clues are highly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Hi Ted

Please note I have *moved* this thread from the CAD Mgmt. General forum to this one as I feel this particular Forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

    Thanks, Mike

    Hi

Check out the following Technical Document on the Autodesk web site under the Knowledge Base section -

ID: TS912 - Create WMF file from layout that includes model space entities

    +

Take a look at the links found in the following post...

RE: I want to print to an image?

    +

Try searching the forums using the below search criteria...

    Key Word(s): *WMF*

To Mile Perry and John B, thank you for the information regarding the web-link related to dealing .dwg and .wmf file.

I found a lot of information and interesting articles. But I didn't find the right answer to my problem on how to export my Auto Cad drawing captured in the layout w/ multi-non rectangular views and x-ref attached to the model drawing as a whole package. Is there a possibility of capturing all multi-object in layout views and how about object that x-reference to another file?

A clue or step-by-step- procedure guide to solve above mentioned problem is highly appreciated.

    Thanks again,

    Ted (Detsenira)

    Hi

You will either have to go with a product like the one, John posted above.

    OR

Go with the solution offered in the Technical Document "ID: TS912" I pointed you towards, above.

    OR

Go with a solution offered in the thread I pointed you towards ( RE: I want to print to an image? ), above.

    OR

    ...

    Have a good one, Mike
