    Exclamation How to scale Rivets

    Dear all
Please find the attached drg file. In the file there are numbers of rivet. Rivets are drawn as a single entity not as s block. Now I want to scale up all the rivets by 2 times. What would be trick, so that it scale up by 2 times but stays each rivets center point as in previous?

I would convert one of them to a block, and then insert that block at each location. This will allow you to change the scale of each on through the properties palette without having to scale each one individually.

I agree with Richard, the easiest way would be to make them into blocks to scale them. just make sure the base point of the rivet is where you want to scale from.

    Hi ansh.delhi

Please note that I have moved this thread from the AutoCAD Tips & Tricks forum to this one. I believe it would be better suited here.

    Thanks!

You could also look at this post to see how to make a quick block. You could then rename that block. When creating a block in this fashion, you would need to right-click on the desired grip for the insertion. If you want a different insertion point, you would most likely need to create the block in the standard fashion.

    Just a thought.

    Thanks to all,
That is because I have posted this thread I thought there will be a smarter solution than manual process creating block n inserting them n all. I am currently using AutoCAD 2004, heard about Dynamic block editor in 2006. Is there any option available there?

You could use the B command, which converts the objects in the drawing directly into a block without creating a separate drawing for the block, that way, you can set up your name and base point right then and there.

    hello
If you want to scale the rivets you should scale all objects, becouse change the distance
change the dimensions and so you can't scale them without and other entities.

No option, I suppose the flange and dimension should not be scaled, only the "visible size" of the rivet.

I suggest the "rivet block" solution.
