We are still considering getting a dual processor station of our own to do renderings but have not yet pulled the trigger. We do, however, have an urgent need to get some walk-throughs rendered and they take an exhorbitant amount of time.

Does anyone know of a company that will produce renderings from Revit models?

Can Revit models be farmed? I'm getting ready to buy 25 new dual-processor machines and link them in a farm for VIZ. However, I'd be ecstatic to link them for Revit too if someone can tell me how.

No, Accurender can't use a render farm.

    Viz/Max and others can.

the only thing you can do is segment the animation path and have several different machines doing separate frames (IE: machine 1 does frames 1-500, machine 2 does 501-1000, etc). Then combine them all together.

I havn't done this personally, but I you'd want to use the same radiocity solution for each machine.

rumor is that Viz 2005 will have some way to deal with Revit models. We'll know at the end of April for sure when it is released, but it might prove a solution where you could open and render a Revit model in Viz, and then use your farm...

I wanna farm... that's way cool man!

Just be careful you don't buy the farm.

Caution, really bad attempt at humor to follow.....

    Sing along!

"Old McRevit had a farm,e-i-e-i-o, with a Viz render here and a Viz render there....."
