    Default Civil3D Performance

i am running civil3d 2006 on its recommended system requirements, 1 GHZ Intel Pentium IV Procesor, 1 GB RAM and others. But still, it's stalling specially at times when i'm rebuilding a surface or doing some grading.

Any tips on how could i maximize its performance. I am working on a 100 hectare land area and it sure would help a lot to minimize if not eliminate the stalling...

    thanks!!!

The only thing that I am aware of is to physically set your page file to 1.5 times your RAM. When windoze manages it (or at least tries to) it gets a little sluggish when it trys to expnd the amount of the pagefile.

Most likely the best solution would be to throw better hardware it. Going up to a 2 or 3 ghz cpu. Even another 1gb of RAM would help. Civil3D is a power hungry program.

    Cool Re: Civil3D Performance

    Hi there,
Yes, as a few already said, better hardware is the proper solution.
But - you might try to reduce the content of your dwg-file as it might contain data you don´t use. (Like imported blocks or other.)

You will also get better speed if you close the application now and then. After a couple of hours in the application it tends to loose speed. (Memory?)
Also - be sure you don´t use a laptop that goes to stand-by and bring it up again. That gives bad performance as well.
