Linking MTEXT to a data source table?

Goodday

I am attempting to link fields in MTEXT to a table that I have attached and connected to in the Data Sources Workspace. How do you set or link a field in the mtext to a cell in the tables? I have got a far as getting the tables with their names in the workspace but I can't make the text link.

I would like to insert text or a block with a defined attribute that has a field that recognizes a record in an linked table from Microsoft excel spreadsheet. Then the remaining fields will be extracted from the linked table or Microsoft excel spreadsheet.

NAME RIM ELEV INV: ELEV
CBMH1 906.0 902.3

structure name CBMH1 WILL BE REFEREFERD IN A BLOCK OR MTEXT AND IT WILL APPEAR BY BRING IN THE STRUCTURE NAME, RIM ELEV AND INV ELEV.

CBMH1
RIM ELEV: 906.0
INV ELEV: 902.3
