Question Script file makes AutoCAD LT 2005 "hang"

I have one user that appears cannot run my script routines. The user is running XP, AutoCAD 2005LT.
As soon as the user selects the script to run, and AutoCAD tries to execute the script, AutoCAD LT hangs and we have to end task stop AutoCAD.

I have other computers and users with the same operating system and same version of AutoCAD and they can run the scripts with no problem.

I've tried the Repair feature in "Add/Remove Programs" to see if that would help. But it did not. I'm running out of ideas.

The actual script file is not at fault, to my knowledge. I can take each line in the script and enter in on the command line and make it though the entire script.

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    AutoTAD

Question Re: Script file makes AutoCAD LT 2005 "hang"

    Hi

Just checking, have I got the following correct...

    * All CAD users are using exactly the same Operating System.
    * All CAD users are running exactly the same version of AutoCAD LT ie 2005.

What happens if a "good" CAD user logs onto the machine of the "bad" CAD user, and tries to run the Script file ?

What happens in the "bad" CAD user logs onto a machine of a "good" CAD user, and tries to run the Script file ?

Is it possible to post the Script file in question ( it might help ).

    Have a good one, Mike

Excellent idea on trying to login as me to see if the problem carries over. I will give that a try.
Attached is an example of one of my scripts. I should rephrase my earlier post to say that this user cannot run ANY scripts without autoCAD hanging.

I will let you know what I find out.
    Thanks,

    Hi

Example Script file runs perfectly at this end ( granted I am running full AutoCAD, not AutoCAD LT ).

Looking at the example Script file I can not see any problems with it.

    Have a good one, Mike

Thumbs up Re: Script file makes AutoCAD LT 2005 "hang"

    Mike,
Wanted to follow up with what I found.

I logged in as myself on the "bad" computer. The scripts ran fine.
One item I failed to mention is that we utilize an add-on software package called LT-Extender. After I loaded this menu into LT the script no longer ran.

To make a long story short, the user had an outdated version of LT-Extender running. So once we updated it, everything got back to normal.

    Thanks for the sleuthing assistance.

    Hi Tad

Good to hear you got the issue / problem resolved, and thanks for postings back the solution that worked in this case. I am sure others will benefit from such information in the future.
