Settings > Options > Rendering should point to the paths for the material libraries, if you can see them , or one of them on each pc , in Revit.

So I found the file "user.mlib" I'm guessing that's it. That file has all the materials that I've created? And if so, can I just copy that one onto another computer. But what I want to do is combine the 2 libraries, is this possible?

Put it somewhere on your network, and just point the 2 computers to it.

If you have 2 different libraries and you want both computers to see them, place both libraries on your network, and tell both computers to look at both libraries!

Okay that part makes sense, but what if the two computers are not on the same network. The 2 computers are not even in the same buidling. One is my office computer the other is my home computer.

Just copy the file, e-mail it to your self, then set up a new path on the computer you want to transfer to. Obviously though, they will not update with one another, but its easy to re-send to yourself in future and over-write the previous version.

Okay that is what I just did. I'll see if it works when I get into the office in about half an hour.

Congrats on the 400th post , glad I could be a part of it.

Okay it worked, but I just found out that the materials/textures from both libraries must be on both computers. A minor problem.

I found a great program called Beyond Compare that lets you look at two folders side-by-side. BC shows different files in color & lets you copy from one side to the other.

    It's only $30 & there's a 30 day free trial - I use it every day.
