Default Plot A1 drawing to A1 PDF landscape

When I plot to PDF using Acrobat Professional 6.0 I can only produce an A1 size pdf in portrait and I have to rotate it 90 degrees to view correctly. The Acad plot setting is for landscape, the Acrobat setting is for portrait. When I change the Acrobat setting to landscape it produces a pdf in landscape but the drawing is still in portrait, see attached.

If I produce an A3 pdf (plotted at 1:2) it works fine.

    I'm using Acad 2005 on Windows 2000.

    Thanks,

    Dan

One more instance where I get validation that the PDF 'Standard' is messy and a real pain in the keester.

the ONLY way that I can successfully, consistently plot PDFis:

    1- Plot to DWF
2- Open DWF and print to PDF

it's a long arduous process, and creates huge files (on the PDF end, when compared with the nice, neat, COMPACT DWF) but it consistently produces the correct results.

(I have sucessfully used this process with both Adobe Acrobat and a much cheaper option for creating PDF called Win2PDF)

    Best of luck,
    Matt

    Hi Dan

Please note I have *moved* this thread from the AutoCAD General forum to this one as I feel this particular Forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

    Thanks, Mike

I produce landscaped PDF's all the time using Acrobat Professional 7.0 with no problems... FTR I'm using Revit on Windows XP SP2 (refer attached)

If you dont have a landscaped A! sheet size... you can create custom sizes

ah, I saw something like the rotation in another thread the other day... I use 6.0 (I do have 7.0 at home, and have read all about the engineering-friendly new tools built into it), and do notice that the prints come out rotated, but, I always open up my pdf-s to double-check them or add bookmarks, just rotate and save them. Hmm, I suppose it could be considered a pain, but, it never really bothered me.

Prior to version 7 (which I haven't properly checked out yet) Acrobat REALLY didn't understand the idea of landscape orientation. Always set up with the assumption that the "plotter" is in portrait mode.

thanks for the info, Brother John... mind you I haven't used in a long while... I'd upgrade to v7 if you can, it has lots of nice features...

If I rotate it and 'save as', when I open up the new file it is still in portrait. If I rotate it and then modify the file, adding a bookmark for example, when I open up the new file it is still in portrait.
