is there an easy way to do a chamfer in Revit? Especially in Sketch mode this would be nice. I realize it's pretty easy to draw a 45 degree line and then trim with the others, but it would be great to have a chamfer tool right next to the fillet tool...

I agree, & also assume you mean as an added button in the lines command, right next to the fillet arc, with the ability to set the chamfer distance, as with the fillet arc.
