Open drawing file - "Select Shape File" message appears

When opening a specific 2005 file, i'm encountering a window that at the top says "Select Shape File" - see attachment.
Can someone please help me figure out how to find, remove or redirect the Shape Font file it's looking for? This file is used as an xref in many of our drawings and this window pops up on all of them and i'd like to get rid of it. thanks!

You will either need to get that "*.shx" file from somewhere, or find what is trying to use the file and change it. (font style, custom linetype, etc.)

My advice is :search the file "hwjshp.shx"on start menu - search option.
and send any directory that you want.

It's looking for a shape file, not a font file.
If you cannot get the shape file from the drawing source, try substituting the "gdt.shx" file that is supplied with acad. It won't be right but ....

Ty, Thanks a bunch for responding! The problem is, the company that first sent us the file has gone out of business. i'm going to try jaberwok's suggestion. Thanks again!
