I have a project coming up with walls that are metal decking or a vertical ribbed configuration. I'm looking for suggestions on the best approach to a wall style that reflects the ribs.
Thanks

We just use a vertical line model pattern for the wall material which then reads correctly in elevation.
Assign the desired texture to that material for rendering and you're there.
You could do this with sweeps integral to the wall definition (search for posts on log walls to get the technique), but I'm guessing it is more trouble than it is worth.
I'd suggest going with Beegee's suggestion and just using detail components in wall sections and other large scale views.
in my experience in that subjet, i notice that doing a 3d void/sweep, what ever is a losse of time and energy, because when we go to a render image the detail is not enough to do some good image, we prefer to use a suit map to do that
in plan or sections' it's a matter off fine linework or patern fill that do the job
