    Question Dynamic Block Losing "Dynamic"ness?

I have a DB that I've copied and upon completing the copy command, it loses it's Dynamic-ness. It's pretty consistent in its behaviour and what makes it even more bizarre is that I've never experienced this with any of the over 100 DB's I've created and used.

Has anyone encountered this before? Is there a way to prevent it?

    Ok,

It happens when I copy and paste it OR when I try to use the Alignment parameter to align it. For example, along a single line, I try to align it so that it faces the opposite direction and then once I have it aligned, the DBness disappears. But only for THAT ONE block, all other instances of DBs including all other instances of THAT ONE block remain fine.

This is one of the most frustrating things I've experienced so far ....

The offending block is called "Wall Mounted Light Fixture" within the "Dynamic Electrical Blocks" Block.

Any help would prevent a trip to a hair transplant clinic.

Has anyone had a chance to look a this yet?

Anyone out there having problems with DBs losing their Dynamic-ness?

Just bumping this up to see if we can find a solution ...

I'm not having any luck recreating your problem....
You said that if you had in inserted, then you try to realign it on the opposite side of a wall, it loses it's Dynamo? I also tried copying it (ctrl-C) and pasting it (ctrl-V), and that didn't trigger anything, either.

I'll take your word for it...

Actually, and this is going to seem like a very stupid question given your status with DB's...
Did you try exploding the block when it lost it's dynamo? If so, and that's not the problem, could you post the drawing that's giving you problems?

Interesting ..... I went to save the drawing so it could be posted, and CAD stopped and when I checked the offending blocks, their DBness came back. It's like they were on vacation ..... ???? WTF just happened?

Could it possibly have anything to do with visibility states?

I've noticed that parameters are affected by visibility states. If you add a new parameter after you create all your visibility states, you must change it to be visible in all states. By default, newly-created objects are only visible in the state that is current when you create the object.
