Default Civil CAD standards for your use

Here's what I've created, but now I'm starting on a new one for 2006. I would greatly appreciate any comments and suggestions.

I did a very quick view of what you put together...

I like that it is short and you find that user will like that also.
I like the map but I would put the printer location on there as well.

    Ready for some bad stuff???

    Here it goes...
Please understand that just have a standard is a great thing but
you really need to look at it from a users point of view.

First, by reading this standard will I (the user) find or get something
that we help me be better and do my work faster???

Next, are you placing helpful items (treats) the user can quick pickup.

Lastly, (because we could go on) insure in someway the user will use the
standard and not just do what they think in correct.

Push the TEAM WORK and be there to support your team...

Thanks for ask us to check it out...

    I think it's phenomenal!

Great structure, great explaination, great layout and great color scheme - thanks for posting that!

I really like the fact it's short and cuts right to the chase.

    Awesome job!

The only constructive comment I have is with your graphics - they look fuzzy like mine!

All this great software and no good way to take "screen-captures" from AutoCAD?

    Ok...

    Here another than...

You could make very easy by providing a profile the user or
cad support person could use to setup the standard stuff...

It is right to note the standards but
I wouldn't want to go step by step to setup my station and
    I may do it wrong...

There are many simple ways to make your users life easier...

I really appreciate the comments, and they're going to be utilized on the new standards. If anyone wants a real copy of this, let me know. The graphics are better on the original; I lost some of the resolution when I converted to pdf. The only bad thing is that I do it all in CorelDraw. I can convert it to quite a few different formats if need be. Now if I can convince all of you to let me write your CAD standards, I can quit my job!!

I would say that not a bad CAD standards mate, but i would say why do you need information on setting up of a workstation and sever/client information, i would say that you have a CAD Manager or I.T. department that would do all that for you.

At my previous job they had a CAD Standards and that was very good it helped me out allot. It had all the information like what Layering system, text sizes, dim styles, where drawings where stored, drawing numbering, where blocks are and LISP programmes that are being used and custom toolbars.

I am currently writing one for my new company as they dont have one. So when its finished i am put it on here see what you think of mine...

It appears that the OP was last on over 6 years ago, so I'm thinking it is probably pointless to ask him if there is a more recent version than the one posted here. BUT, perhaps there are others following this thread who can direct me to more recent information on CAD standards, especially in regards to Civil drafting.
