Assign certain Object types to certain Layers

does anyone know of a way to automatically assign certain objects to their respective layers. ie, I'd like to have items like dimensions, leaders, and text fall onto certain layers w/out having to constantly switch current layers or perform filtered selections to do so. does the fairly recent "Cad Standards" feature help in accomplishing this?

you can manage this by custmizing tool palettes properties

1.Type TPon the command line the tool palette appear
2. Right click on the tool pallete and choose NEW PALETTE
3. Drag and drop the dim or txet or so from screen to the new tool palette
4. Right click on the item on the tool palette to customize properties

I agree with a_meteni, the easiest method is to use Tool Palettes.

If you have needs that expand beyond the capabilities of Tool Palettes, custom routines can be written to do this.
