    Default "Fatal Error" Problem

On ArchDesktop 3.3, I try to open a drawing saved from CAD '05 as a CAD 2000 file. Upon clicking the file I get this message in a window:

"Fatal Error: Unhandling Access Violation Reading 0xaad956c Exception at 3601e78ch"

is there any way that I can open this file with ADT 3.3 because my CAD '05 trial expired?

(trying to open the recovered file yields the same result)

If these were autocad files, you could use the DWG TrueConvert program, but, I don't believe that works with the verticals.

I'm going to move this from the AutoCAD General forum, as I believe this will be better served here. Thank you.

    Default Re: "Fatal Error" Problem

If you can post I file I can try to open it and covert it using the export to Acad function. I can also try to save as a 2000 file. You may want to try the old school esc trick. If have a drawing that's crashing upon opening, here's a trick that can work from time to time. Open the drawing, and hit the esc key right after the file starts loading. This will cancel the auto regen. Sometimes that's the problem. But if you post it, I'll see what happens here.
