    Default All Xref's reloading

    Hi,

Just wondering if there is a system variable to overcome this scenario......when the balloon warning (located from the tray in the bottom left of the screen) for the need of updating an x-ref is activated, I find that ALL x-ref's reload and become visible...e.g. I will have, say 8 x-refs that I could be using with maybe only 2 showing as loaded; update one file, the balloon warning shows, I activate the balloon, and *presto* ALL x-refs reload.

Anyway I can prevent the reloading all of them?...Obviously it wouldn't if I use the x-ref Dialogue Box......Maybe I need to make it a little clearer for all to understand?

    Question Re: All Xref's reloading

    Hi

Have you installed AutoCAD 2006 Service Pack 1 ?

Apparently, Service Pack 1 ( Opens Readme file ) one corrects this issue...

    Have a good one, Mike

That is accurate. SP1 fixes this.

I beg to differ. I have SP1 and I still have this issue.

Sorry, I should have been more specific.

SP1 for Land Desktop Companion fixes this problem. I can't speak for vanilla AutoCAD SP1 or other SP1's (although one would think the vertical SP's are a superset of the vanilla one)

    My behavior:
When a drawing is updated, the notification bubble in the AutoCAD tray says that "an" external reference has been updated, and the clickable link is the single xref name, not just "reload xrefs"

When I click the link, only the xref in the link is reloaded. Other xrefs are not disturbed.

    Hi

Just for general information... the below is taken directly from above referenced "Service Pack 1 ( Opens Readme file )" link...

    * External references (xrefs) that have been unloaded are no longer reloaded when you click a balloon notification in the host drawing.
    Have a good one, Mike

*That* is what I was confirming. If a particular system with SP1 fails to perform as advertised, I would suggest confirming that SP1 was applied successfully.
