Switch which version of AutoCAD opens a drawing

On our computer we have Map3d 2006 and AutoCAD2005, is there a way to make AutoCAD2005 open all drawings when they are selected from Windows Explorer. We only have one license for Map3D and the computer always seems to try to open a drawing with the last AutoCAD version used.

Have you tried changing the file type association? This would be under folder options in a windows explorer window. You should be able to limit the file type to a certain program file.

that doesn't seem to work, it seems to open the drawings with what ever the last used version of AutoCAD was. for example, if we open a drawing using Map 3d, the drawings will default open with Map 3d until we open one with 2005, then it will open with 2005 until we open a drawing with Map 3d. We would like it to always open with 2005, except when we open Map 3d first and open a drawing from there.
