Question Some Layers do not show up in Paperspace

I have objects on some layers in model space that don't show up in paper space. All the layers are on, thawed in current and all viewports, unlocked. The layers are visible in the layer box. There are objects from a consultant and also layers from an xref.

    I'm using Autocad 2002.

I can get around this by creating a new layer and moving the objects to it. The layer and the objects show up in paper space. But I would like to prevent this from happening in the first place. Any Ideas how this happens?

Make sure the layer is not frozen in the viewport.
When you are in the viewport, if you look at the dropdown layer list on the layers toolbar, you will see the big sun/ snowflake, which is the normal freeze thaw that affects everything, and then there is a smaller sun/snowflake that looks like it is on a piece of paper. This freeze only affects things in the current viewport. This icon is not visible in the layer properties manager, so you may not ever see it if you don't use the layers toolbar.

This would be my first guess as to what the problem is.

    Hi

If still no joy, and it is possible to post the drawing file in question, please do so - we can then take a look at the problem / issue first-hand.

    Have a good one, Mike

What about if you create a new viewport in a new layout in the same drawing? Do your layers show then?

Could it be related to non continuous linetypes and PSLTSCALE?

    Hi,
    I'm having the same problem,
I thinks it match your suggested critirea, I checked every thawed/frozen layers it seems everything is fine.
partial of the non continuous linetypes give this kind of problems.
do u have any solutions to solve this problem?

so far i found solutions for normal thawed layers in VP..

    Thank you,

You did double click in the viewport to go through to model space, correct?

Jules makes a good point. The freeze in viewport options do not show up in the layer dialogue box unless you have activated the viewport in question. First double click inside the viewport, then open up the layer dialogue box and check the VP Freeze layers.

might be a part of you graphics card. I had a computer back in 06 I would have to go into the viewport freeze the layer in question and then unfreeze it. Not sure why I assumed it had something to do with the regen and graphics card
