Default Win XP Pro and /3GB switch

We have a machine here that uses the "/3GB switch" to enable the full four gig of RAM for use with Inventor. It had been working well for some time now, but it has just recently started refusing to load windows when the /3GB option is selected and I can not for the life of me figure out why. It was working one day, and then not the next.

Obviously something has changed, but I do not know what. Has anyone had a similar experience? Any ideas?
