Hey, sometime in the next few weeks my new gig is supposed to be getting me a new Duo from Dell. Basically the crappier Dell/WindowsXP version of the MacBook. And on a side note, I just found out from a sysadmin friend of mine that EFI booting would allow a 32-bit machine to use up to 12 gigs of Ram. Apparently it's done all the time for Linux servers (that can happily use EFI for booting). Sigh. Windows XP 32 bit and Vista 32 bit in the future, apparently won't support EFI booting (only the 64 bit systems will) and so I'm betting will continue to have the 2-3 gig overhead for memory... Modern technology at it's finest.
