Default 3D Layers or 3D Environment?

Recently, I received a drawing made in 3D for editing. All my lines and polylines take a default Z height. I can however reset the thickness to zero in the properties dialog area of the lines, but I'm at a loss on whether this kind of 3D environment was created by specifying the thickness of model space or, through a kind of guru(aic) wiz done with layers (don't blame me, I see "miracles" everyday in the forums).

There are only four (4) layers in the complete drawing, all starting with the letters 3d... Do these have anything to do with the 3D behaviour?

    Hi

Please note I have *moved* this thread from the AutoCAD Customization forum to this one, as I feel this particular forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

    Thanks, Mike

    Hi

As far as I know "no" AutoCAD does not create such standard Layers ( 3D... ); unless such functionality has been added in AutoCAD 2007.

AutoCAD goes automatically create such Layers as...

    ASHADE
    Defpoints
Layers created when using commands _.SolDraw and ._SolView

    Have a good one, Mike

Thanks for moving it here, i didn't know where to put it.

I'm not sure the drawing is related to AutoCAD 2007 as I didn't get any prompts to say it was made with a higher version. So I guess thickness was specified in the model space before the drawings were made, right?

    Hi Wisdom.

Both "thickness" and "elevation" can be used at the command prompt.
Values entered there will be inherited by all appropriate objects created from then until the values are changed.
