    Question Another ADT vs Revit

    Short Question :
Can I attach schedule data to infill panels in a curtain wall for take offs ?

    Long Question :
I was all into ADT 2 & 3 then the Revit talk...should I stop the ADT thing all together....
Well I went into VB until the matter was solved.....still wondering.

I know the Curtain Wall objects in ADT would help with my documentation but I would love to get at that data.....for manufacturing.

I draw stone panels on buildings. I have been tempted by the infill component of the curtain wall.

I don't know the first thing about Revit and its Curtain wall system or if I should even be pursuing this (using the curtain wall approach) avenue.

Any, I mean ANY help would be appreciated
    Thanks in advance

I could see the use of curtain walls for stone panels. How would you propose attaching schedule data? What properties would you want to extract from the panel to be represented in your schedule?

    THE Richard Binning ???

Wow, I'll try to keep from asking for your autograph....

"How would you propose attaching schedule data?"
    - That's just it....I don't even know if this is possible we show a "Part Number" on our Arch'ls now....Maybe this is my "TAG"

"What properties would you want to extract from the panel to be represented in your schedule? "

    - Ideally, my Width, Length, but if I could I would have 20-25 different "properties"
I am not sure if there is a limit to these

    In Revit:
You can definitely add as many properties as you would like to a panel and schedule all of them. Right out of the box you can schedule the Height, Width, Area, Count, Assembly Code, Assembly Description, Comments, Constructions Type, Cost, Description, Family, Family and Type, Finish, Manufacturer, Mark, Model, Type, Type Comments, Type Mark, URL. This even takes into account the width of the mullions and the amount they take off each panel. For custom composite panels you could easily add shared parameters for volume and weight.

You can do the same ootb for ADT. However, the difference is that you would attach the PSD to the curtain wall as a whole & then the schedule would read the data from the curtain wall. Of you had a curtain wall in ADT, someone could come up with a quick example.
