I need to setup tags that are positioned offset from the typical family insert point. The families in question are electrical outlets. I would like to use tags to annotate the type, for example GFI for ground fault, IG for isolated ground etc.
I have two questions.
1) How do you set the insert point for a custom tag. There does not seem to be a way to coordinate this from the family editor. The tags end up right on top of the symbol in my case.
2) Out-of-the-box Revit families like a door appear to have tags automatically setup so that when you load the family the tag comes with it and you have the option of having the tag automaticaly placed on instance i.e. "Tag on Placement". Is it possible to design custom families and tags to utilize this feature?
I am especially interested in item 1. We use text symbols in CAD to identify different types of fixtures. It would be nice to have auto-rotating text like the tags that can be associated with typical symbols. The tags are even better because they are derived from parameters. But you can't locate tags appropriately on the symbol easily.
Does anyone have a better answer here?
Thanks...
