Does anyone have information on/or ever used a product called Advance Steel (structural steel detailing package) from a company named Graitec? Advance Steel is package that works within AutoCAD. I would appreciate any information you have.

Maybe the autodesk discussion groups have something to offer? (sorry you haven't gotten any comments here)Originally Posted by samjh

Looks like a really cool product for a structural engineering firm.
March - August... March - August... What happened there?
What is your budget.
I recommend Tekla, though it is very expensive.
It may be too late to be any help this time around, but I've been using Advance Steel for the past year and a half. So far, I have not come across anything that I couldn't model and detail. Advance Steel is a great value and a very powerful modeling and detailing tool. Version 5.1 was not as impressive, but I started out on 6.1, was updated to 7.1 and 8.1. Version 2009 will be coming out this fall. Advance Steel is definately worth looking into.
If anyone out there would like to talk to a satisfied Advance Steel user, contact me at mddcliffcole@netins.net
Advance Steel is an AutoCAD-based application (while TEKLA is not)
Advance Steel handles stairs, railings, cage ladder very efficiently.
Advance Steel allows you to create any type of folded plate and get it unfolded on workshop drawings but also within DStV NC file (for the machines at workshop)
Advance Steel automatically provides high-quality drawings
Advance Steel is part of the GRAITEC BIM solution available for the professional that you are.
Well, it is never too late ... go for Advance Steel! ()
