Custom Tag Family

I am designing a multi-family project, and am trying to invent a custom tag for each type of unit so that I can schedule my unit mix. I saw a thread from someone who has done this, but I can't find it and am having a hard time figuring out how to do it. What I have done so far is create a custom family that would be embedded in the group for each different unit type, and then tried to make a generic tag to schedule and show in the plan, but I can't get the tag to recognize the family, and I can't figure out how to tie the family to the tag.

Anybody have any similar experience?

Hi Jeff,

If you wish to schedule the information and tag it, you'll need to utilise shared parameters. If you do a search on shared parameters i'm sure you'll find what you need.

Do you need the parameter to show in the tag or just in the schedule?

Will using a room tag or area tag within the unit and adding a parameter for Unit Type accomplish what you're after?
